JAMES FARMER RIDES TO 4TH WIN BEFORE RAIN AT U.S. 13

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (5/1/11) – James Farmer of Felton, Del. remained red hot in Pro Bike as he rode to his third consecutive win and his fourth overall in Sunday’s double point show at the U.S. 13 Dragway. Along with Farmer, Taylor Cox of Mardela Springs, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Travis Waters of Delmar, Md. in Bike Trophy beat the rain in winning their finals. Super Pro, Pro, Street and Jr. Dragster 2 were cut short by the weather with the money divisions splitting the purse.

James Farmer on a Kawasaki rode up against Ron Fensick of Bridgeville, Del. on a ’98 Buell in the Pro Bike final. Farmer had a .050 reaction and ran an off the throttle 9.217/117.27 on a 9.04 for the win. Fensick was late at the line with a .094 light and was off his dial with a 10.589/108.78 on a 9.90 dial. Semi-finalists were David Manuel of Pittsville, Md. who lost to Farmer and Jake Perkins of Frankford, Del. who lost to Fensick.

In Bike Trophy Travis Waters on his ZX14 took the win over Cardi Nock of Bridgeville, Del. Nock had a -.083 red light foul and ran a 10.714/130.07 on a 10.70 dial. Waters took the win with a 10.188/140.31 on a 10.20 dial for the win.

In the Jr. Dragster 1 final, Taylor Cox was paired against Ryan Jackson of Newark, Md. Jackson had a -.043 red light foul to void a run of 8.932/70.12 on an 8.92 dial. Cox posted his second win of the season with an 8.877/71.46 on an 8.92 dial.

Four drivers remained in Super Pro when the rain came: Johnny Ennis of Pocomoke, Md.; Chris Garretson of Middletown, Del.; Ben Parks of Salisbury, Md. and Vernon Russell of Dover, Del. split the money. In Pro four cars remained including: Humphrey Maddox, Jr. of Princess Anne, Md.; Ryan Groton of Salisbury; Phillip Truitt of Parsonsburg, Md. and Steve Long of Linthicum, Md. split the money.

Two teams had advanced into the finals in Street Eliminator before the rain. The team of Osowiecki & Williams defeated Josh Davis in the Semi and Jason Skinkle of Westover, Md. defeated India O’Boyle of Ocean City, Md. in the Semi.

The Jr. Dragster 2 final was also set before the weather. Shelby Bireley of Salisbury who defeated Kody Mariner of Salisbury in the Semi and Cortney Cathell of Laurel who had a bye in the Semi had their final run eliminated by the weather.
