TIM FOSKEY, JR. MOVES TO TOP ET AND WINS ON NOSTALGIA DAY

DELMAR, DE – Last season “Mother Nature� was the winner of the first Hot Rod Reunion Nostalgia Show & Drags at the U.S. 13 Dragway. Sunday was a different story as beautiful Fall weather produced a nice turnout of show cars and racers. Eliminations in Top ET and Mod ET were shortened to the eighth-mile in preparation for next weekend’s IHRA Bracket Finals at the Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Md.

Moving to Top ET and taking the win was 2016 Mod ET champion, Tim Foskey, Jr. of Rhodesdale, Md. in his ‘84 Mustang. Marcus Wongus of Rhodesdale drove his ‘69 Nova to the win in Mod ET while 2016 Pro Bike champion, Harvey Powell of Felton, Del. continued his winning ways. Ryan Groton of Laurel piloted his ‘78 Camaro to the special Nostalgia Eliminator win. Other winners on the day included: Gary Stickles of Delmar, Md. in Street; Angelina Battaglia of Elkton, Md. in Jr. Street; Sara Davis of Laurel in Hot Rod; Cody Drummond of Laurel in Jr. Dragster 1 and Vance Usilton of Salisbury, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.

Tim Foskey, Jr. faced Brian Churchwell of Milford, Del. in his ‘69 Nova in the Top ET final. Foskey had a .017 light and ran a 5.993/108.22 on a 5.97 dial-in for the win. Churchwell broke out with a 7.013/97.01 on a 7.04 dial. Semi-finalist was Sterling Clough of Marion, Md. who lost to Foskey while Churchwell had the bye.

Foskey, Jr. also made it to the final in Mod ET and was paired against Marcus Wongus of Rhodesdale. Foskey had a -.008 red light foul and Wongus got the win with a 5.830/116.24 on a 5.86 dial. Semi-finalists were Daryl Beauchamp who lost to Wongus and Troy Wongus who lost to Foskey.

In the Nostalgia Eliminator, Ryan Groton took on Henry George of Linthicum, Md. in his ‘69 Dodge. George left early and fouled and Groton got the win with an 11.592/115.77 on an 11.56 dial.

Harvey Powell riding a Ski Doo snowmobile faced Marquise Blake on his GSXR 1000 in the Pro Bike final. Blake left early and fouled and Powell took the win with an easy pass of 12.621/60.53 on a 9.98 dial. Semi-finalist was Deltez Davis who lost to Powell while Blake had the bye.

If was former Street champion, Gary Stickles in his ‘78 Ford Fairmont going up against the 2016 Street runnerup, Michael Jefferson of Parsonsburg, Md. Jefferson had a perfect .000 reaction light but was off his dial just enough that Stickles, who had a .018 light was able to take the win. Stickles ran a 13.540/98.30 on a 13.52 dial while Jefferson ran a 12.052/108.16 on a 12.00 dial.

Sara Davis continued to rack up the wins defeating Harvey Bowden in his ‘93 Mustang in the Hot Rod final. Davis had the better reaction by far and ran an 11.951/104.87 on an 11.89 dial for the win. Bowden ran an 11.282/120.44 on an 11.19 dial.

Angelina Battaglia was a solo entry in the Jr. Street division in her ‘13 Hyundia. Battaglia had a super .001 reaction light and ran a 9.916/72.98 on a 10.00 dial for the win.

Cody Drummond took on Reece Hales in the Jr. Dragster 1 final. Drummond had the better reaction and took the win with an 8.837/66.51 on an 8.69 dial. Hales was late and ran an 8.954/72.04 on an 8.90 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was Vance Usilton up against Alexis Truitt. Usilton scored his first win in the double breakout final with an 8.489/77.44 on an 8.50 dial while Truitt was out by more with a 7.908/84.01 on a 7.94 dial.Dragway logo 2014-01
