WHAT IS THE MOST TALKED ABOUT ITEM ON THE SHORE....THE LIST

July 23, 2015 (By Mark Cathell, Delmar, DE)

Folks, if you were not here Wednesday night, words can hardly describe the action. Our program is building momentum each and every week. We have to thank all our members on THE LIST, these teams are putting on a great show for the fans on Delmarva.

We have a NEW Gate Keeper on the LIST. Please welcome, Craig Walls in the "Green Grenade" Mustang! Walls was the only man who showed up to challenge Jamar Hollingsworth. Hollingsworth in his "Black Ice" S-10 had held the number 10 position for several weeks. After two good test hits by both cars, they were prepared to go to battle. At the drop of the green, Hollingsworth had the advantage but Walls was ready to reel in the pickup. At the 330' mark, Walls had caught and gaped Hollingsworth by over a car length. From there, Walls continued to walk away and at the strip had a considerable advantage to take the win light. With the win light came a new member to the LIST.

Next up, Antoine Jones in the Slaughter House "Lisa Ray" # 3 LIST entry "Called Out", # 2 Danny Clark in the "Boosted Deuce". Clark and his crew have been making changes to increase the horsepower to the Boosted Deuce. Jones, in the Lisa Ray has been one of the most consistent cars running on THE LIST. List fans filled the stands and fences to see what the first "Deuces Wild" match up would bring. On the green, Jones jumped out on Clark, at approximately 125'  Clark seem to have to back pedal. At that point, this was all Jones would need to pull away and grab the win light. This win now moved Jones & Lisa Ray to the number 2 position and Clark assumed the number 3 spot.

Lance White in the "No Piggy" entry, had "Called Out" the loser from the Jones & Clark pairing. After a short cool down period, both drivers made their way to the staging lanes. Clark won the coin toss and chose he favorite right lane. As both drivers staged carefully, Clark let the transbrake button go to soon, dropping the red light on the right side. Fortunately for White,  with Clark's infraction,  he picked up the automatic win. White experienced some traction issues on the start and chose to idled down for the win. Clark on the other hand made a great pass from A to B, this gave his crew some good information for their race program and we know they will put it to good use.

After the LIST dust cleared, the Boyz from the 302 had some "Trespassers" invade the area. Last month, we met Mr. Bruce Styles from across the bay. He brought 3 cars over to challenge the 302, at the end of the night, the score was 0 wins for the 301, 3 wins for the 302. So, Styles regrouped and this time it seemed as he would step up the competition he would bring to the table. The Boyz from the 302, were not scared at all! Steve Drummond and Lance White from the DRC camp accepted the challenge and paired up.

First out, Lance White would be paired up with Daniel Ravenscroft. Ravenscroft brought his big Block Chevy nitrous powered Chevy II. White in his small block Ford Vortec supercharged Mustang, has been one of our top contenders since the LIST began. White sat at the number 1 position for over 8 weeks. A packed house took up every inch of real estate to watch this match up. Both drivers staged up and before the "instant green" could flash, Ravenscroft jumped the start with a red light. White left on the green and almost reeled in the Chevy II at the 1/8 mile marker. Race # 1 WIN to the 302 compliments of "no Piggy!"

Race # 2 saw two veterans of the grudge racing world paired together. Steve Drummond in his "Old Eleanor" entry Mustang, powered by a small block Ford on nitrous would go up against "JJ" Jeff Rodgers. Rodgers in his fox body small block powered 3 stage nitrous entry had made a decent test hit and the DRC camp knew they would need a good run.  Again, both drivers approached the starting line carefully, off the line it look to be an advantage to Drummond. At the 330' mark, Drummond had a slight half car length lead over Rodgers. As Rodgers seemed to hit the third stage nitrous, his car broke the tires lose, causing him to have to peddle. That was all Team DRC need to set the gap and grab win # 2 for the 302!

For now, the Boyz of the 302 are undefeated at 5-0 over the "Trespassers" for the Balt/Wash Metro area. We know, these racers will not go down with out a fight and we expect to see them back at the next Wednesday Night Grudge scheduled for August 19, 2015. We would like to thank, Bruce Styles, Travis Scott, Antoine Jones w/Grudge Inc., Steve Drummond and Lance White for their efforts in organizing these match ups. We look forward to the return of the "Trespassers" back to the shore.

This is Race Master Mark reporting, as I always say....'BRAGGING AIN'T BRAGGING UNLESS YOU CAN BACK IT UP!" The 302...We back it up!

Till next time....
