LAURA LANDRY GETS 2ND SUPER WIN – DON TEAGUE AND JAMIE RUSSELL SPLIT BAD 8 AT U.S. 13

Landry2By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (8/2/13) – It was a big night of racing Friday night at the U.S. 13 Dragway that included the Bad 8 and the Jr. Dragster Shoot-Out. Laura Landry of Townsend, Del. padded her lead in the Super Pro Points by earning her second win of the season in Super Pro while Don Teague of Newark, Del. and Jamie Russell of Dover, Del. split the Bad 8 Full Body and Bad 8 Open Wheel finals. Other winners on the night included: James Farmer of Denton, Md. in Pro Bike; Tim Foskey of Rhodesdale, Md. in Pro; Frank Parks of Denton in Street; Jacob Bowie of Greensboro, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2 and Keith Riddle of Millsboro, Del. in both Jr. Dragster 1 and the Jr. Dragster Shoot-Out.

 

Don Teague was on a roll in the Bad 8 Full Body qualifying number one with Low E.T. of 7.954 and Top Speed of 174.62 in his ’67 Chevy II. Teague went on to win the final against Larry Shorb of New Castle, Del. in his Vega. Teague ran a 7.945/172.01 on a 7.94 dial for the win while Shorb broke out with a 9.200/144.57 on a 9.21 dial. In the Bad 8 Open Wheel final it was Jamie Russell up against Bobby Insley of Salisbury, Md. Russell had a .003 reaction light and drove to the win with a 7.553/175.33 on a 7.55 which was a total of just six on-thousandths of a second away from a perfect run. Insley broke out with a 7.706/171.59 on a 7.74 dial. Brian Kunkowski set Low E.T. and Top Speed in qualifying with a 7.134/191.65.

 

Teague would advance to the final round of Super Pro but Laura Landry would put an end to his perfect day with a hole shot win. Landry had a .019 reaction and ran a 9.640/137.23 on la 9.62 dial while Teague was late at the start with a .047 running dead-on his dial with a 7.950/168.63 on a 7.95. Semi-finalist was David Tucker of Ellendale, Del. who lost to Teague while Landry had the bye after a .008 reaction in the quarter-finals.

 

Tim Foskey faced Daryl Beauchamp of Princess Anne, Md. in the Pro final. Foskey had the better reaction and took the win with a 9.531/137.74 in his ’69 Chevelle while Beauchamp broke out with a 9.184/148.73 on a 9.21 dial. Semi-finalist was Crystal Hudson o Millsboro who lost to Foskey while Beauchamp had the bye.

 

James Farmer rode up against John Ferguson of Cambridge, Md. in the Pro Bike final. Farmer had the better reaction and cruised to the win with an 8.809/124.27 on an 8.67 dial. Ferguson was late at the start and ran a 9.838/142.29 on a 9.74 dial. Semi-finalist was John Bartkovich of Salisbury who lost to Farmer while Ferguson had the bye.

 

Frank Parks was back on top taking the Street Eliminator win. Parks defeated Josh Davis of Seaford, Del. with a .001 reaction light and ran 11.847/10584 on an 11.81 dial. Davis was on his dial running a 12.254/109.07 on a 12.25 dial but could not overcome Parks’ start.

 

Keith Riddle was paired against Ethan Hubbard of Princess Anne, Md. in the Jr. Dragster 1 final. Riddle had the better start and took the win with a 13.138/49.25 on a 13.08 dial. Hubbard broke out running a 12.979/50.91 on a 12.98 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was Jacob Bowie taking on Christian Walston of Crisfield, Md. The pair were even at the start but it was Bowie edging out the win with an 8.002/81.00 on a 7.98 dial. Walston had a 7.930/80.75 on a 7.90 dial. Riddle and Bowie met in the Jr. Dragster Shoot-Out. Riddle was quickest off the line and took the win with a 13.142/49.14 on a 13.10 dial while Bowie had a 7.985/81.59 on a 7.98 dial.
