FARACE & TEAGUE CAPTURE “JERRY KETTERMANS SUPER BAD 8�

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE  – Six second runs and a large field of Super Pro racers highlighted the  “Jerry Ketterman’s Super Bad 8� Sunday at the U.S. 13 Dragway. Doug Farace of Towsen, Md. captured the Super Bad 8 Open Wheel final and Don Teague of Newark, Del. was the winner in the Super Bad 8 Full Body final. Other winners on the day included: Frank Lecates of Salisbury, Md. in Super Pro; Glenn Groton of Salisbury, Md. in Pro; John Bartkovich of Salisbury in Pro Bike; Frank Parks of Denton, Md. in Street; Kerry Hall of Bridgeville, Del. in Bike Trophy; Tyler Powell of Delmar, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Josh Phelps of Pasadena, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.

In the Super Bad 8 Open Wheel final it was Doug Farace going up against W.R. Ketterman of Salisbury. Ketterman had a -.002 red light foul and Farace made a blazing pass at 6.998/191.85 on a 7.01 dial for the win. In the Super Bad 8 Full Body final Don Teague met Vernon Russell of Dover. Teague had the better reaction and ran a 7.831/178.11 on a 7.81 dial for the win. Russell broke out with an 8.321/166.94 on an 8.32 dial. New Jersey’s Ron Riegel and Low E.T. and Top Speed in Full Body qualifying with a 7.204/189.19. In Full Body qualifying Jimmy Hitchens of Millsboro, Del. set Low E.T. with a 6.958 and Wayne Patton of Rhodesdale, Md. had Top Speed with a 197.02.

Frank Lecates faced Ryan Huntington of Parsonsburg, Md. in the Super Pro final. The two were close at the start but Lecates was on his dial with a 7.989/168.09 on a 7.98 dial for the win. Huntington ran a 7.857/168.50 on a 7.84 dial. Semi-finalist was Bill Groton of Seaford, Del. who lost to Lecates.

Glenn Groton drove into the Pro final against Tim Foskey of Rhodesdale, Md. Foskey had the better reaction but was off his dial and Groton took the win with a 10.175/130.58 on a 10.14 dial. Foskey had a 9.669/122.63 on a 9.57 dial. Semi-finalist was John Parks of Denton, Md. who lost to Foskey.

John Bartkovich rode up against Anthony Buckson of Smyrna, Del. in the Pro Bike final. Buckson had the better reaction but broke out with a 9.489 on a 9.49 dial-in and Bartkovich took the win with a 13.619/93.19 on a 13.59 dial. Semi-finalist was Calvin Walton of Randallstown, Md. who lost to Buckson.

Frank Parks defeated Brian White of Salisbury in the Street final. Parks had the better reaction and took the win with an 11.957/108.16 on an 11.90 dial. White ran a 12.186/122.85 on a 10.95 dial. The Bike Trophy final saw Kerry Hall end Harvey Powell’s streak. Hall defeated Shawn Riddle with an 11.012/119.69 on an 11.00 dial. Riddle ran an 11.104/124.86 on a 10.90 dial.

In the Jr. Dragsters it was Tyler Powell paired against Anthony Pavone of Seaford, Del. in the Jr. 1 final. Pavone had a red light foul and Powell took the win with an 8.936/73.16 on an 8.90 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was Josh Phelps facing Cortney Cathell of Laurel, Del. Phelps took the win with a 7.953/78.00 on a 7.90 dial while Cathell had a 7.971/79.83 on a 7.90 dial.
